Jerusalem 2014
Green Valley Theatre Company is proud to present Jez Butterworth’s “Jerusalem”
Deep within “England’s green and pleasant land” Johnny Rooster Byron sits outside his trailer and overlooks the St. George’s Day festivities in the local town. He is a former daredevil motorcyclist, drifter, waster, general Pied Piper, and a wanted man. The council wants to serve him an eviction notice, his motley crew of mates wants his ample supply of illicit fortitude, Troy Whitworth wants to pound him with a metal pipe, and Marky wants his dad to take him to the fair. Jerusalem is a bawdy, drug- and booze-fueled exploration of England’s national identity, life on the margins of society, and the inherent necessity of rebellion.
