Gordon Schwinn is a struggling composer with a big problem: his brain. When he passes out during a lunch meeting with his agent, Rhoda, his life is turned into a running fever dream of imaginings, visions, and epiphanies. Gordon's hallucinations are dominated by his boss Mr. Bungee, a domineering frog with his own children's show.

Gordon's brain troubles are just the beginning, though: he also has to contend with a quirky hospital staff, an angry homeless woman, and his own fear of dying with his greatest songs still inside him. With the help of Rhoda, his mother, and his boyfriend Roger, Gordon learns to appreciate life in a brand new way.
