Green Valley Theatre Company has revived the time-honored tradition of the cabaret. In this ever-changing and evolving show, some of the most talented (and depraved) performers from Sacramento and beyond cast aside convention (and often their bras). The VerteFée Cabaret is a bohemian, absinthe-soaked extravaganza in spirit of French cabarets and the raunchy, satirized Weimar shows of 1930’s Germany-all packed into the Green Valley Theatre’s intimate V street venue. In keeping with the vaudeville tradition, The VerteFée presents unique yet classic humor that straddles the line between witty and blasphemous, where offense is not intended, it’s just a bonus. All tickets for the The VerteFée Cabaret are $18 No one under 18 admitted.
In Silver Screen Queens, The VerteFée Cabaret has been given an exclusive pass to a film major studio. The audiences will be tantilized and delighted as we visit sound stages, studio sets, and late night after parties. The dawn of the studio era films brought an entire culture that was uniquely California 1930s. It was Deco, decadent, and deliciously stylish in ways that sun-starved New Yorkers could only fantasize about while salivating over Holywood gossip magazines.
